J2 – September; Part 1

A very quick post this time; September Part 2 will be very, very long in compensation!

A few changes at work began at the beginning of this month. 3 of our staff moving shops! Our assistant manager, one staff member who passed the exam for changing from a regular employee to a proper company employee (they have odd levels of being employed here… you can be a full time employee but still not be considered, or given the benefits of a “proper” employee.), and one of the newer staff members. We had a big old party in an izakaya.

And on the 12th, it was Mitch’s birthday! I woke him up to a bit of a house hunt for his silly present, while his big present got delivered at about 8am. He knew there was a present in the house and had been since May but he couldn’t find it XD I had put it in the present bag we have where we keep various Christmas and birthday presents… Always hide in plain sight! The Very Hungry Caterpillar socks went down like a charm, and Mitch never realised just how much he wanted a life-size Bulbasaur in his life until he cuddled his one 🙂 Mitch was also pretty darn happy with his care packages from the UK, mostly filled with sweeties 🙂 Thanks family! x

I managed to keep the evening’s plan a secret, so he was pretty happy to have a buffet at our favourite kushi-katsu place. Work bought him a cake too! I asked the restaurant to bring it out for us, and even though they said they wouldn’t decorate it or anything, they covered it in sprinkles and profiteroles :3

Another Birthday present, and also our 6-month-in-Japan anniversary present will be the subject of the next blog! Thanks for reading, I always appreciate it ❤
