Ikea!!
So I have an awful lot of days out to write about, but I think I’ll start backwards and do today, Sunday 6th October 🙂
Bekah, Sam and I went for a trip to Ikea, mostly for bedding for Bekah and I but also because; who doesn’t like Ikea? It took about an hour and a half to get there, it was near Shin-Misato station in Saitama so we met up and went by train; as one does for nearly everywhere in Tokyo! We didn’t expect to see what we did when we arrived though, as we just thought it would be another place but with Ikea. Wrong! Here is what we saw:
And the place we had come to had the most amazing name:
Rather than go straight to Ikea we decided to check out the massive shopping mall which was even more HUGE than we thought. It was sort of mental. We headed for the Muji we could see the signs for, and it was aaaaalll the way at the back so we got to see the whole mall. Muji in Japan is more like a mini Ikea than anything else; in England all they sell is stationery and furniture really but here they sold food and electrical stuff, had a huge clothes section and bedding and beds and even had the fake rooms set up!
On the way to Muji they had the BEST thing I have seen in Japan so far! Thomas the Tank Engine Land!!!
Once we had bought our stuff we had a quick mosey into Loft and got some folders and stationery. Then on to Ikea!!
It was exactly the same as Ikea in England apart from the book shelves had Manga on them! How cool 😀 It was lovely to wonder around something so familiar. And of course we got meatballs 🙂
After we had bought all our stuff (Bekah bought the shop… xD ) We headed back to Muji for Bekah’s futon and then to Stick Sweet Factory, mostly because they advertised a drink called a ‘swinkle’ and we needed to know what it was. It turned out to be pretty much just a frappuccino but it tasted amazing!
And finally we moseyed home, Bekah with her backpack, 2 Ikea bags and a futon! I just had the suitcase I’d brought in prep 😛 Here’s what I bought! My favorite is the rainbow pillow 😀
